Alpha 1 Engineering Technology Group today introduced Alpha Protect, a patented anti-microbial formulation designed and integrated into woven and non-woven fabrics for medical, healthcare, hygiene, consumer health productsvand other industrial products where improved anti-microbial and anti-viral performance are critical to health and safety. Licensees of the Alpha Protect technology will integrate the novel formulation into woven and non-woven fabrics to dramatically improve the efficacy and safety through improved anti-microbial and anti-viral performance. “Alpha Protect TM technology is a breakthrough innovation in prevention, control, and protection against HAI and SSI pathogens like bacteria, fungus, virus, including SARS-COV-2 virus, and other microbes” says Eugene Dan-Jumbo, Alpha 1’s Chief Scientist. The patented Alpha Protect technology is a novel Cu ions network formulation validated to deliver improved anti-microbial performance through a series of microbiological and biomedical In-vitro test. Alpha Protect has shown outstanding efficacy and safety for medical, healthcare, hygiene, and other public health related products. Unlike silver ions, Alpha Protect efficacy does not degrade when exposed to moisture environment, and thus, provides an enhanced anti-microbial efficacy, safety, and durability when integrated into woven or non-woven materials for all types of environments such as spun bond, melt blown, SMS, film, or any other engineered polymeric materials or cellulose materials.
